A small workshop in Manchester

Rainfall,
craft software

Rainfall was founded to help small businesses grow in a time when it's harder than ever to do so. We build the bespoke, targeted tools that a small independent business needs to work better, freeing up their time to do what they love.

How Rainfall works

You tell us what's annoying you

We sit down together and you talk us through whatever's slowing you down or eating your time.

We work out the fix

We look at how you actually work, and find the smallest thing that solves it.

Point you to the right tool

If something off the shelf already does the job, we tell you, and set it up properly.

or

Build you one

If nothing fits, we make a small custom tool that does exactly what you need, and nothing you don't.

We stay in touch

We make sure it keeps working, and we're here if it ever needs a repair.

Why we exist.

Not too long ago, if a company wanted a bespoke piece of software it would take a team of developers at least a few months and many thousands of pounds to create it. That put it completely out of reach for small businesses.

New technology and tooling has changed that. The same kind of fix that used to take months and a small fortune can now be built in days, for a fraction of the cost.

For the first time, small independents: the self-care shop, the local co-operative grocery, that brilliant bakery down the road, can afford to fix those annoying manual processes that take up so much of their day.

Rainfall exists to make that happen, to help the small businesses we all rely on at a time when it's harder than ever for them to survive. Rainfall helps things grow.

Things we've made.

Each of these is a Rainfall-built tool that helped a small business solve a niche problem they couldn't find an off-the-shelf solution for.
